Talking at recent press junket for
Thor: The Dark World in London, Marvel Studios head honcho
Kevin Feige has also been discussing plans for the development of two more of Marvel's cult characters now that the rights for
Daredevil and
The Punisher have been reverted back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Feige told Bleeding Cool they're still figuring out how to proceed with these properties:
We're trying to figure out what to do with Daredevil now. Punisher could show up at one point. You know, once we get characters back into the Marvel fold we don't want to do something right away, we want to do the smart thing at the smart time.
Daredevil was a Fox production that starred
Ben Affleck, while
Dolph Lundgren portrayed the
Punisher in 1989 with mixed results. The second darker and grittier
Punisher version starring
Thomas Jane was released in theaters 2004 and was hugely underrated. On the other side, the 2003
Daredevil film made a profit, but it was reviled.
The studio is obviously eager to do something with two of the biggest characters they have reacquired recently, but it's just a matter of waiting for the right time to reintroduce them. Now we know that Marvel Studios definitely haven't forgotten about them.
Would you like to see
Doctor Strange and
Black Panther get slots in
Phase Three or you'd rather enjoy
Phase Two than looking ahead to 2016?
