Let's get straight to the point with this one. We have Joe Hill (yes, he's Stephen King‘s son) and his short story titled Twittering from the Circus of the Dead on one side, and Chris Borrelli set to write an adaptation of above mentioned short story on the other side.
That sounds like another zombie-twitter-something project is coming, and for the rest of details check out the rest of this report.
So, Chris Borrelli has been tapped by Mandalay Pictures to write an adaptation of Joe Hill's short story, and we also learned that Todd Lincoln is in negotiations to direct the whole thing.
HeatVision reports that Hill's short story is written entirely as tweets from a teenage girl, and it “follows a family on a cross country road trip that goes horribly wrong.
By the way, Twittering from the Circus of the Dead appeared in The New Dead, which is an anthology of zombie stories published earlier this year.
So, no wonder HV also adds that “Mandalay, Lincoln and Borrelli don't want ‘Twittering' to be the latest entry into the zombie genre, which is threatening to become ubiquitous and to jump the undead shark, and are planning a few surprise changes. Hill has given his blessing to the new approach and will be involved in its development.”
Make it a franchise then!
When it comes to Twittering from the Circus of the Dead, we must admit that Lincoln definitely sounds like an interesting choice (his directorial debut “The Apparition” with Ashley Greene and Sebastian Stan and is currently eyeing a 2012 release). Hill, on the other hand, will serve as executive producer.
We'll keep an eye on this one, so make sure you stay tuned!
