Charlize Theron is so committed to her upcoming role in
Fury Road that she has apparently shaved off her shoulder-length blond hair to play her character Furiosa in the
Mad Max franchise.
This can only mean one thing that shooting would soon begin and the long-delayed reboot of
George Miller‘s post-apocalyptic franchise has become reality.
Theron was spotted out and about in Beverly Hills on Monday, wearing a grey fedora hat over her newly-cropped locks as she carries her adopted son, Jackson.
In May, Theron told reporters:
We start shooting I think around mid-July in Namibia. I'm f***ing dying, too, it's been three years,” said Theron, referencing the fact that the project was initially supposed to film in 2009. “It's time to skin this cat already, so yeah, I'm very excited about it.
During her promotional tour for Huntsman, Theron also told MTV News that Fury Road was slated to resume production June 2nd.
You want some inside scoop? Start date: June 2. We've had a lot of time to talk about it and we had some rehearsal time when we were going to (shoot the movie). I think it's been good. I think you have to find the positive about something like this, waiting that long to do a film.
Details of the forthcoming film are still unclear, but Miller already planned two other films for the
Mad Max: Fury Road with Theron,
Tom Hardy and
Nicholaus Hoult among others. He said that the script for the second has been completed and the third is soon to be finished.
