David O. Russell‘s upcoming project known as
American Bullshit (or whatever) is getting bigger – we've just learned that
Louis C.K. is in some serious talks to join the whole thing. If negotiations work out – he will come on board to play a
key role in yet untitled Russell's movie which already stars
Christian Bale,
Bradley Cooper,
Jeremy Renner and
Amy Adams.
The good thing is that the movie (described as the period drama) begins production next month, so I guess we'll soon have more details to share with you.
THR reports that
Annapurna is fully financing the film, and that
Columbia Pictures will handle U.S. Distribution for the movie which is set for release
in late 2013.
O. Russell will direct the whole thing from a script written by
Eric Singer, and the movie will center on:
…a notorious financial con artist and his mistress & partner in crime, who were forced to work with an out of control federal agent to turn the tables on other con artists, mobsters, and politicians. At the epicenter of the entire tale, is the passionate and volatile leader of the New Jersey state assembly who is also the local hero and mayor of impoverished Camden.
As for the above mentioned cast,
Christian Bale is set to star as that con artist,
Amy Adams is his mistress,
Bradley Cooper will play federal agent, while
Jeremy Renner is on board to play that local hero and mayor of impoverished Camden.
Louis C.K., on the other hand, should star as an FBI agent.
