Joe Batteer.
The movie tells the story of a pretty but plain girl named Vicky Lynn Hogan, from a small Texas town, who transforms herself into a Playboy pinup and model Anna Nicole Smith.
Sounds like a fairy-tale, but we all know how it ended: Smith was found dead in a Florida hotel room in 2007 of an accidental overdose on at least nine prescription drugs. And the saddest thing – she was only 39.
Anyway, beside Bruckner, the movie also stars
Adam Goldberg (as Howard K. Stern, Smith's lawyer and lover),
Martin Landau (as J. Howard Marshall – her much older second husband),
Virginia Madsen (as her mother) and
Cary Elwes.
The Anna Nicole Story debuts on Saturday, June 29 at 8 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
