The Butler is getting bigger!
Lee Daniels‘ upcoming biopic already has an extraordinary cast on board, but there's still place for one more name to jump in. So, let's all say one big hi to
Liev Schreiber, who has just signed on to play the role of President Lyndon B Johnson in the whole thing!
We previously reported that Daniel's movie will tell us the true tale of Eugene Allen, the late White House butler who served eight presidents during his tenure from 1952 to 1986, and that the story is based on Wil Haygood's Washington Post article about Allen.
And now, a little reminder!
Forest Whitaker will play the butler in the White House,
Aml Ameen will star as the younger version of the character,
David Oyelowo will star as Allen's son and
Oprah Winfrey as his wife.
Then we also have
Alan Rickman as Ronald Reagan,
Jane Fonda as his wife,
John Cusack as Richard Nixon and
Robin Williams as Dwight Eisenhower.
Few days ago we also added
James Marsden as John F. Kennedy, and
Minka Kelly as Jacqueline Kennedy,
Melissa Leo as Mamie Eisenhower while the rest of the cast also includes
Nicole Kidman,
Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrence Howard, Lenny Kravitz, Alex Pettyfer,
Zac Efron, Mariah Carey (wtf?),
Vanessa Redgrave,
Jesse Williams and
Colman Domingo.
At the end, let us also add that The Butler is scheduled to begin shooting at the end of this month, so don't worry – we'll keep an eye on every single update!
