Just a quick update on NBC's upcoming adaptation of
The Sixth Gun! Like it or not, but
The Ruins star
Laura Ramsey is now on board to play the female lead, character named Becky Montcrief.
If anyone asks, we have nothing against this casting update, as a matter of fact – Ramsey sounds like a perfect choice for this supernatural Western.
Created by
Cullen Bunn and
Brian Hurtt, The Sixth Gun follows the story of six mythical guns, each with its own other-worldly powers. The rest of the story goes like this:
“When the Sixth Gun, the most powerful and dangerous of the group, resurfaces in the hands of an innocent girl, a farmer's daughter named Becky Montcrief, dark forces reawaken. Vile men, long thought dead, set their sights on retrieving the gun and killing Becky.”
At this moment, we also know that
W. Earl Brown (Deadwood) is also set to play General Oliander Hume, described as an undead, foul mouthed, brilliant Confederate War General that has been imprisoned for 18 years in a magical coffin.
The rest of the cast will also include
Graham McTavish as character named Silas Hedgepeth and
Aldis Hodge as Agent Mercer.
At the end of this report, let us remind you that the pilot is written by
Ryan Condal and will be directed by Jeffrey Reiner.
