In case you forgot –
back in December we had a little chat about
Kristen Wiig and her possible involvement in the upcoming
Anchorman: The Legend Continues. Today, we're here to say: it's official, Wiig is definitely on board for the whole thing, and this news comes straight from director
Adam McKay!
McKay directs the sequel to the 2004 film
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy from a script he co-wrote with
Will Ferrell, who is once again on board to play the title role – Ron Burgundy.
You know, the famous and successful (and funny) anchorman for San Diego's KVWN-TV Channel 4 Evening News who says:
You're so wise. You're like a miniature Buddha, covered in hair.
Beside Ferrell, the original film also starred
Christina Applegate,
David Koechner,
Fred Willard,
Fred Armisen and
Chris Parnell.
The good thing is that they are all back for the sequel, as well as
Steve Carell and
Paul Rudd.
As for
Kristen Wiig, she is rumored to play a romantic interest to Carell's character – a clueless weatherman Brick Tamland. And that, my friends, already sounds great, hope you agree?
Anchorman: The Legend Continues is already set to open on December 20th, 2013.
In case you've missed the official teaser for the whole thing, here we go again:
