Here's something that could be great!
Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, remember this title! It could be just another romantic comedy, but
Steve Carell and
Keira Knightley are in negotiations to star in it, and you must agree that it sounds awesome!
Lorene Scafaria, the writer of
Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist is on board to helm the rom-com that will, by the way, mark her directorial debut.
Seeking a Friend at the End of the World takes place “at a time when mankind is forced to absorb the fact that an incoming asteroid will end humanity. Carell plays a man suddenly alone when his wife leaves in a panic. His high school sweetheart writes him saying she wants to be with him when the world stops. His neighbor (Knightley) accompanies him on the road trip as love blooms at the worst possible time.”
So, as you see, we'll have a chance to watch a romance, comedy and an apocalyptic ending. 3 in 1. But, who cares when we have this interesting cast on board!
Both Carell and Knightley are quite busy these days. I'm sure you already know that Carell is set to star in
Great Hope Springs and
Burt Wonderstone.
Knightley, on the othe hand, has that
A Dangerous Method project with Viggo Mortensen and Michael Fassbender, and is also set to star in the upcoming Joe Wright's adaptation
Anna Karenina.
As for
Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, principal photography is scheduled for May in Los Angeles.
