So, what do
Justin Timberlake and
Neil Bogart have in common? The answer to that question is
Spinning Gold project, where Timberlake will portray this famous 1970's record producer.
But, apparently, that's not all, because we've just learned Timberlake will also serve as feature producer on this biopic, so, as you see, this sounds like our
Cry-me-a-river-guy is quite serious when it comes to Hollywood!
Spinning Gold is written by Bogart's son
Timothy Scott Bogart, so you should be prepared to see a story of Neil Bogart who went from being a dirt-poor Jewish kid from Brooklyn to become a multimillionaire who helped define 70′s pop culture by launching the careers of such superstars as KISS, Parliament, Donna Summer, and The Village People.
As you already know, Bogart died in 1982 at the early age of 39 from cancer.
In an interview with
Deadline, Tim Bogart revealed that they are very satisfied with Timberlake's involvement in the whole thing. Bogart said:
“He has the exact same energy as my father. The same glimmer in his eye. When Justin walked into the room, that was a moment I had been waiting for 29 years.”
Unfortunately, at this moment there's still no information about the potential directors, although the production is targeted to begin before the end of 2012.
As usual, we'll keep an eye on the Spinning Gold so make sure you stay tuned!
