The sort of good news is that
JP4 movie hasn't been cancelled, it's just been given the Sam Lowry treatment.
Joking aside, there does seem to be some turmoil behind the scenes and it sounds like the fourth installment in the dino-franchise has been put on hold.
Just a couple of days earlier, director
Colin Trevorrow posted a location scout image (below), which he tweeted as Nublar, the island from the original film.
Two tweets from the film's Digital Asset Manager Todd Smoyer and Concept Artist Dean Sherriff (via
AICN) have since been deleted, but that sounds pretty bleak.
However,
Jurassic Park IV was targeting a June 13th, 2014 and not a single cast member had been announced yet.
Safety Not Guaranteed helmer Trevorrow is still on board, and 80% of the work from the Art Department is reportedly done, but
JP4 movie has been in pre-production longer than most before it was made public.
The June 2014 release date was no doubt incredibly optimistic.
We'll keep you posted when we hear more.
