Three months ago,
Joseph Gordon-Levitt had no future
Batman or
Justice League movie plans, but the ending of the Nolan's Batman trilogy still left the door open for him to take over as the Caped Crusader.
According to
HitFix's sources, ‘Joseph Gordon-Levitt absolutely will be appearing in Justice League as the new Batman.'
Therefore, speculation about how to tie up Warner Bros.' various DC characters for Justice League has ‘turned into conversation, and that conversation seems to be solidifying into a plan.'
But, of course, none of that has been confirmed. It is still early in the development process, so, anything could change, but we think we have an example worth sharing.
Furthermore, we have a reason to believe we will see Gordon-Levitt as Batman earlier than that. He may even appear as the character as early as next year's Man of Steel.
A Man of Steel cameo isn't actually confirmed neither, but it's not that hard to shoot one of those post-credit scenes where ‘Superman gets a call on the Batphone from a mysterious figure who needs help against a powerful foe.'
After all, whatever contract Gordon-Levitt signed when he made the film was with Warner Bros., not Nolan.
Stay tuned.
