There's still nothing official about this, but we hear that
John M. Chu is currently in some serious negotiations to direct
Masters of the Universe. You know, He-Man and his crew…that should be fun.
Especially now when we also know the whole thing would be a live action film, and that Sony Pictures and Escape Artists are behind the project.
And ok, we all know that Chu is currently busy with his 3D conversion on
G.I. Joe: Retaliation, but that's not reason for him to leave He-Man to someone else.
After all, it's a familiar story which centers on a prince (and we all have a dream that some day, some prince will save our Universe, especially a prince who wears a weird tight costume, don't we?) who transforms into a warrior and becomes the last hope for a magical world that has been ravaged by the sinister Skeletor.
On the other hand, let us also mention that this time
Alex Litvak (Predators) and
Mike Finch (Exclusively Yours) are on board to write the script, and we definitely hope that new Masters of the Universe will help us all to forget that 1987 version with Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeletor.
So, yes, Masters of the Universe – we're ready for all of you! Hope Chu is, as well!
