John Cho, one of the stars of an ABC hit show, sitting on two film franchises, now is attached to the cast for the remake of Total Recall with shooting set to begin in Toronto this Monday.
No doubt, the Len Wiseman‘s remake has been picking up steam over the past few months. Back in January, a lot of details were edited about the film, including Colin Farrell as the replacement for Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Bryan Cranston, who plays Vilos Cohaagen ,the leader of Euromerica plotting to invade New Shanghai.
Recently, Bill Nighy and Davy Jones have joined the team. Aside from them, Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel are set to star as the female lead characters, as well as Ethan Hawke in a cameo role.
And last update reveals Cho will play “the smooth-talking rep for the company that tempts Farrell's character to implant fantastic memories into his brain” known as McClane. But ends up accidentally making him think he's a spy.
It's obviously Cho becomes specialist in two genres – raunchy comedies like Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle and the American Pie franchise, and sci-fi actioners like Star Trek and now Total Recall. Cho also starred in the TV series FlashForward as FBI Special Agent Demetri Noh, but Mr. Sulu in Star Trek boosted his reputation.
The remake based on Philip K. Dick's short story is scheduled to hit Albany theaters next summer on August 3rd.
