Joel McHale is the latest to be cast in an upcoming
Mark Mylod‘s comedy titled
What's your number? So,
The Community star joins cast that already includes
Anna Faris, Chris Evans, Zachary Quinto and
Matt Bomer.
And yes, we already had a little chat about this interesting comedy, but we could remind some details once again…
The whole thing is actually an adaptation of Karyn Bosnak's book 20 Times a Lady in which a young woman who, with the aid of her womanizing next door neighbor, decides to re-visit all her ex-boyfriends in the hopes of finding the man of her dreams.
Here's the official book-synopsis: “Delilah Darling's magic number was supposed to be twenty. She always thought she'd find the perfect guy by the time she'd slept with twenty of them. But when she wakes up naked in her disgusting boss's bed after a drunken night out, she's filled with regret – and realizes she's hit her self-imposed limit.
Unwilling to up her number but unable to imagine a life of celibacy, Delilah does what any girl in her situation would do: she tracks down every man she's ever slept with in a last-ditch effort to make it work with one of them. A hilarious romp through Delilah's past loves, 20 Times a Lady proves that in the end, numbers don't matter. True love will come when you're open and ready to accept it.”
Mark Mylod is directing with
Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson of Contrafilm producing, while Jennifer Crittenden and Gabrielle Allan wrote the script based on Bosnak's book.
So, we already know that Faris will play this charming young lady, and looks that she just got herself “mildly charming boss, whom she accidentally sleeps with, causing her to begin a wild goose chase to find the one that got away”.
Yeah, you guess – McHale is that guy! McHale can be seen on NBC's
Community as well as host of the E! Show
The Soup, and he recently joined the cast of the Fox 2000 comedy
The Big Year starring Owen Wilson, Jack Black and Steve Martin.
Shooting of
What's your number? is set to begin at the end of the month. We'll keep an eye on this project, so remember to stay tuned!
