We're now all talking about
Horizons and not about
Oblivion. But don't get confused, that's the same project we already wrote about, with
Tom Cruise already set to star as the male lead.
In case you still don't remember, the story of this sci-fi thriller is set in an apocalyptic future with humans living in clouds above the uninhabitable Earth. Doesn't sound interesting to me at this moment, but thanks to the latest rumors, it could be…
Apparently,
Olivia Wilde, Jessica Chastain, Noomi Rapace, Brit Marling and
Olga Kurylenko are all in contention for the upcoming
Joseph Kosinski's movie, and one of them could be the next Julia, Cruise's character fiancee before Earth was invaded, or Cruise's “right-hand man and lover” Victoria.
At this moment still no details on whether they're all testing for the same part, different parts, or whatever.
Let me just remind you that Cruise is on board to play a soldier relegated to staying on the planet to work on drones that seek out and destroy a savage alien life form.
Horizons project was initially developed as an adaptation of the graphic novel Oblivion, but as you see, there have been some changes, so we'll have to wait what will happen with the whole thing.
After all, they previously mentioned a fall production start-date, but we all know Cruise will be busy with that
One Shot movie this autumn.
And, as for the above mentioned actresses, they're all pretty good, but somehow I would like to skip Wilde this time, and give a chance to Rapace. Just thinking out loud…
