Well, ok, this is not exactly a surprise, we already had a little chat about
The Ends of the Earth. Last summer we reported that
Jennifer Lawrence is attached to play the female lead in the upcoming romantic drama, but now comes the word that
David O. Russell is on board to direct the project for the Weinstein Company. At this moment – nothing about
Bradley Cooper and his possible involvement in the whole thing (just kidding!)
So, let us once again remind you that
David O. Russell will direct the project from a script written by
Chris Terrio, which centers on a powerful oil tycoon, Ernest Marland, who loses everything after engaging in a controversial love affair with his adopted daughter Lydie.
As you already guess –
Jennifer Lawrence is on board to play Lydie Marland.
The film is being produced by Todd Black, Steve Tisch and Jason Blumenthal of Escape Artists, and, according to
THR, Russell could tackle the project after his next movie – yet
untitled drama (read:
American Bullshit) with (guess who!)
Bradley Cooper,
Christian Bale and
Amy Adams (and Lawrence, but she will apparently just have a cameo in that one).
Make sure you stay tuned for more updates!
