It's official: Jean-Claude Van Damme is set to play lead in Keith Parmer‘s action thriller titled Swelter! But that's not all. Lennie James, Catalina Sandino Moreno and Josh Henderson are all set to co-star in the movie which centers on a former bank robber who becomes a sheriff with no memory of his past life. But, his ex-gang members are back and as you already guess – all they want is – money!
At this moment, thanks to Variety, we know that The Exchange is representing worldwide rights and is offering the film to buyers at the European Film Market in Berlin. Eleonore Dailly will produce the project and filming should start at the end of this month.
As we said, Swelter follows a gang who hit the Luxor Casino in Las Vegas for more than $100 million with all but one of the five soon captured. Ten years later, the quartet is on the trail of their former accomplice and the remaining $10 million in stolen cash.
