Omar Sy who broke through in a huge way with French sensation
The Intouchables is set to team with
Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty) for an upcoming action thriller titled,
Candy Store, which Traffic scribe
Stephen Gaghan co-wrote and will direct.
The ensemble thriller has been linked to
several established A-listers in the past year, including
Brad Pitt and
Denzel Washington.
Shannon Burke co-wrote the script which weaves together several different storylines all set in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn.
Clarke will play a former covert operative who realizes a criminal syndicate he once battled has set up shop in his neighborhood. Clarke's character partners with a local cop to investigate.
Sy will play a king pimp involved in an intricate plot to harm Manhattan.
Candy Store comes to theaters in 2014.
Clarke will be next seen in Baz Luhrmann's
The Great Gatsby and Roland Emmerich's
White House Down, followed by
Matt Reeves' franchise sequel
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, while Sy will next appear in
Michel Gondry's
Mood Indigo and Bryan Singer's superhero adventure
X-Men: Days of Future Past.
