So, that
Need For Speed adaptation is coming after all? Good to know, especially now when
Fright Night star
Imogen Poots is set to play the female lead in the whole thing. She will join previously announced
Aaron Paul, and I guess that together they will finally show us what's so special about
Scott Waugh‘s adaptation of EA's popular video game franchise
(I still have no idea, I admit!)
George Gatins is responsible for the script which will be based on the game series, but as we learned – it will not be based on an individual game.
What director Waugh is bringing us is actually
a fast-paced, high-octane film rooted in the tradition of the great car culture films of the '70s while being extremely faithful to the spirit of the video game franchise.
As for lady Poots, she comes on board to play an up and coming racer whose father has staked everything on her success. I think that Poots and Paul are quite interesting combination for this kind of story, especially if we also add that in this movie:
…the cars are hot, the racing is intense and the story keeps players at the edge of their seat.
At least – that's exactly what they promise us!
Need For Speed is already set to open on March 14th, 2014.
