Back in April, we told you how the former White Stripes singer-guitarist Jack White would write, produce and perform the score for their upcoming big-budget iteration of The Lone Ranger.
Well, that's not true, but it sounded good. However, White is no longer working on The Lone Ranger score and frequent Gore Verbinski collaborator Hans Zimmer is now the man behind the film score.
Zimmer previously composed the unforgettable score for the director's Pirates of the Caribbean films.
White has reportedly contributed several pieces of music to the production. His bluesy, folks-rooted style seems perfectly oriented for the material, but White became logistically unavailable when the film's release date was pushed from May to July.
Therefore, scheduling issues really did keep White from finishing his work on the film.
As for Zimmer, who also scores to the director's The Weather Man and Rango, this is the second summer blockbuster in 2013, as he's also tuning up Man of Steel.
As you already know, The Lone Ranger is set to open on July 3rd, 2013.
