The Homesman,
anyone familiar with this title? Of course you are, we previously
reported that
Tommy Lee Jones co-wrote, will direct and star in the upcoming
western, and that some seriously good cast is already on board! Now, we're here to add another great name, 'cause we've just learned that young & sweet
Hailee Steinfeld has joined the whole thing as well…
True Grit star joins previously announced
Meryl Streep,
Hilary Swank,
James Spader,
John Lithgow and
Tim Blake Nelson in a story that is set in 1855 Nebraska and follows:
…an untrustworthy man and a spinster school teacher who team up to transport three women deemed crazy via ox-drawn wagon across the Western plains.
Jones is set to play that untrustworthy man, Swank will star as the above mentioned teacher, and according to the latest reports – Steinfeld comes on board to play character named Tabitha Hutchinson, a simple-minded, poor and barefoot teenager.
Kieran Fitzgerald and
Wesley Oliver co-wrote the script with
Tommy Lee Jones, who will also produce the project alongside Michael Fitzgerald for
Ithaca Pictures, Peter Brant, and Luc Besson for
EuropaCorp.
We'll keep an eye on
The Homesman, stay tuned for more updates!
