Here's the good news.
Guy Ritchie definitely has some interesting plans for his future movies. And one of the projects he's still very much interested in is an adaptation of the DC Comics series titled
Sgt. Rock.
Yeah, that's the same project we already heard about in February 2010, and I'm sure you already know that at one moment even
Francis Lawrence was attached to direct the whole thing. Now, it looks that Warner Bros wants Ritchie back on the project!
Of course, if everything works out, this adaptation will come right after Ritchie finishes his work on
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.
According to the latest reports, Ritchie is now looking over a new draft of the script that goes back to the original WWII setting of the comic and that Warner Brothers as well as producer Joel Silver want it to be his next film.
Just in case you're wondering if this one is as interesting as the adventures of Sherlock Holmes, let me remind you that The Sgt. Rock comic books surround a hardcore infantry officer fighting in WWII.
Frank Rock is built like a tank, and he and his company Easy Unit make a bloody swath through Europe during the war.
Still, as we said, this is not the first attempt for the film adaptation of this comic, but we definitely hope this time Ritchie will have success in his intentions.
In the meanwhile, make sure you stay tuned for more updates on Sgt. Rock!
