Warner Bros has finally unveiled the first teaser trailer for
Alfonso Cuarón‘s
Gravity, the sci-fi thriller starring Oscar-winners
George Clooney and
Sandra Bullock as astronauts forced to survive in the infinite darkness.
Seven years after his last feature,
Children of Men, Cuarón is coming back with his next film, a long-anticipated and still somewhat mysterious film,
Gravity. His outer space survival drama opens with a ‘continuous 17-minute shot' that shows everything we see in this trailer.
Unlike his previous film, the astronauts have to make do with the scarce resources in space and no connection with the rest of mankind and judging by the trailer it looks to be quite a different movie than most action sci-fi films that are coming out this year.
Co-written by Alfonso and
Jonás Cuarón, after years of delays,
Gravity hits theaters on October 4th, 2013.
Take a deep breath and watch the first teaser trailer below.
Dr. Stone (Bullock) is a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (Clooney). But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone—tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they've lost any link to Earth… and any chance for rescue.
