Ready for more casting news? Ok, then, check this out – Giovanni Ribisi is about to join Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis in the upcoming Seth MacFarlane‘s project titled Ted.
What do we have here? Family Guy creator is responsible for the story as well, so I guess it's no wonder that it already sounds weird.
Except you like to “deal with your cherished teddy bear that came to life as the result of a childhood wish.” I told you it's a weird one.
Well, Wahlberg is set to play that guy, and here's how he described his role in an interview with MTV:
“I don't know how much Seth wants me to tell but it's about this kid who gets a bear for Christmas. And, you know, it's the '70s – it's one of those Teddy Ruxpin-ish teddy bears where you squeeze it and it says, ‘I love you!'
The kid wishes and dreams that the bear would come alive – and a Christmas wish must be granted – and it does come alive.”
He also added: “Seth McFarlane's voicing the bear – the bear is gonna look like a little teddy bear, but it's motion-capture. It's like ‘Avatar.' It's never been done before. It's insane – I mean, what the bear does…. The bear becomes famous, and that's my ticket to getting things and living a life of privilege.”
Interesting?
Whatever, when it comes to Ribisi, we learned that he will play Donny “a man obsessed with the cursing, crass, living teddy bear.”
On the other hand, there's no word on who Kunis would play.
MacFarlane, Scott Stuber and John Jacobs are to produce through Stuber Films.
