Jake Gyllenhaal‘s collaboration with director
Denis Villeneuve may first be reaching audiences with solid thriller
Prisoners this week, but there's another movie project the two works together and we now have a look at the poster and teaser for that film,
Enemy.
An ambitious mind-bender film is poised to be released soon, and it's decidedly more twisted than
Prisoners, but like
Prisoners,
Enemy debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival last week to good reviews.
Based on ‘
The Double' by the late Nobel Prize-winning author
José Saramago, Gyllenhaal stars as a paranoid teacher who believes that he has found his exact doppelganger and he sets out to find out who this person is. If it's anything like the book we can expect a ton of surprises too good to spoil.
The film also stars
Isabella Rossellini, Melanie Laurent and
Sarah Gadon.
We expect indie distributor A24 Films to release the film sometime in 2014.
Feel free to watch the following teaser trailer as it merely sets the mood, featuring a voice-over from Gyllenhaal discussing dictatorships as we see snippets of incongruous footage from
Enemy.
