Some new on-location photos have been posted from the set of
J.J. Abrams‘
Star Trek 2 movie that feature Spock (
Zachary Quinto) and Uhura (
Zoe Saldana) facing
Benedict Cumberbatch.
A couple of interesting things we have learned from the photos:
Benedict Cumberbatch's character is a human/humanoid villain wearing some variant of a Starfleet uniform
The standard uniforms, the communicator prop and the phaser appear unchanged from the 2009 Star Trek film
It looks like some of the scenes will be shot in IMAX; however, as we can see in the above images, Star Trek 2 will involve a fair amount of green screening, may be some resolution issues when it comes to post-conversion
Furthermore, production team has until May 17th, 2013 to get it right.
Moreover, a big fan of comics publisher 2000 AD decided to send them a special birthday greeting with the help of Star Trek's
Karl Urban. You can still see Bones' blue-uniform. Here's the video:
