Production is underway on the sequel to the
Farrelly Brothers' long-awaited follow-up of the story of Lloyd and Harry, and
Jim Carrey has tweeted the first images from the set of himself and
Jeff Daniels reading his own children's book ‘How Roland Rolls'. And they're doing it wrong. (
Update: New image reveals the return of
Brady Bluhm as Billy in 4C.)
According to recent Emmy winner Daniels:
There are some things we're going to do in ‘Dumb and Dumber To' that are going to make the toilet scene look lame. Pales in comparison and I can't divulge what, but just that they've topped it. They best thing about it? I get to work with a comedic genius.
The script is co-written by
Sean Anders,
John Morris,
Mike Cerrone, and the original's co-writer,
Bennett Yellin. 20 years after Harry and Lloyd drove around in a dog-shaped car, they have to hit the road again to find Harry's illegitimate daughter for a kidney transplant.
Laurie Holden (The Walking Dead) recently took the female antagonist lead, alongside
Kathleen Turner, Rachel Melvin, Cam Neely, Brady Bluhm, and
Steve Tom.
Universal has yet to set a release date for
Dumb and Dumber To, but the film is aiming to be ready for release next summer.
Check out the first images and stay tuned for any updates.

The Farrelly Brothers just tweeted a photo of a grown up Billy, the blind kid who bought Harry's headless parakeet:
