Here comes the first trailer for the upcoming
Hyde Park on Hudson movie, which stars great
Bill Murray as Franklin D. Roosevelt and
Olivia Williams as his wife Eleanor.
Ok, when I first saw the synopsis part I was like…
oh, well, I'll survive, but now, after seeing this trailer, I have no doubts that
Roger Michell‘s project definitely deserves my full attention. So – here's my advice: do not miss it!
Laura Linney, Samuel West, Olivia Colman, Elizabeth Wilson, Elizabeth Marvel and
Eleanor Bron also star in the movie which will take us back to June 1939, when President Franklin D.Roosevelt and his wife Eleanor hosted the King and Queen of England for a weekend at the Roosevelt home at Hyde Park on Hudson, in upstate New York.
With Britain facing imminent war with Germany, the Royals are desperately looking to FDR for support. But international affairs must be juggled with the complexities of FDR's domestic establishment, as wife, mother, and mistresses all conspire to make the royal weekend an unforgettable one.
Seen through the eyes of Daisy, Franklin's neighbor and intimate, the weekend will produce not only a special relationship between two great nations, but, for Daisy – and through her, for us all – a deeper understanding of the mysteries of love and friendship.
Focus Features will release Hyde Park on Hudson on December 7th, 2012.
