Here's a new look at Sony Pictures Animation's
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 that has snuck out on the film's Australian YouTube channel.
The footage was shown at this year's San Diego Comic-Con and this looks like it will be an incredibly fun ride.
The video delivers some of how inventor Flint Lockwood (
Bill Hader) gets his gang back together. He's actually invited by his idol Chester V to join The Live Corp Company, where the best and brightest inventors in the world create technologies for the betterment of mankind. Flint and his team embark on a mission to stop mutant food/animal hybrid monsters.
Anna Faris also returns as the leads for the voice cast, with
Andy Samberg, James Caan, Neil Patrick Harris, Terry Crews, Kristen Schaal, Will Forte, and
Benjamin Bratt.
The sequel opens in 3D on September 27th, 2013.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 picks up where Sony Pictures Animation's mouth-watering comedy left off. Inventor Flint Lockwood thought he saved the world when he destroyed his most infamous invention — a machine that turned water into food causing cheeseburger rain and spaghetti tornadoes. But Flint soon learns that his invention survived and is now creating food-animals – ‘foodimals!' Flint and his friends embark on a dangerously delicious mission to battle hungry tacodiles, shrimpanzees, hippotatomuses, cheespiders and other foodimals to save the world – again!
