We have the first teaser trailer for the upcoming HBO drama
The Newsroom which stars
Jeff Daniels and
Sam Waterston in the leading roles.
You'll have a chance to see a 2-minute preview of a behind-the-scenes look at the people who make a nightly cable-news program. At least, they say that's what this movie is about.
Ok, enough of joking, I must admit that this looks quite interesting. Which is no wonder, because we all know that
Aaron Sorkin is behind this story.
This project is the third series in Sorkin's
Behind the Scenes trilogy, following
Sports Night and
Studio 60.
The whole thing focuses on a network anchor, played by Jeff Daniels, his new executive producer, the newsroom staff and their boss (above mentioned Sam Waterston), and the series center on their mission to do the news well in the face of corporate and commercial obstacles-not to mention their own personal entanglements.
The rest of the cast includes
Emily Mortimer, John Gallagher Jr., Alison Pill, Thomas Sadoski, Olivia Munn and
Dev Patel and the show will premiere on June 24th, 2012.
