Two months ago we shared the first official
trailer for
Jon S. Baird‘s upcoming
Filth movie, where you had a chance to check out one greedy, corrupt policeman played by
James McAvoy. Today, we're here to take another look at his Bruce-guy, who knows that it's flithy job getting to the top, but hey –
somebody's got to do it!

Written and directed by Baird, the pic is is based on
Irvine Welsh‘s best-selling novel
Trainspotting, which follows a bigoted and corrupt policeman named Bruce Robertson, who is in line for a promotion and will stop at nothing to get what he wants.
Enlisted to solve a brutal murder and threatened by the aspirations of his colleagues, including Ray Lennox, he sets about ensuring their ruin, right under the nose of unwitting Chief Inspector Toal. As he turns his colleagues against one another by stealing their wives and exposing their secrets, Bruce starts to lose himself in a web of deceit that he can no longer control. His past is slowly catching up with him, and a missing wife, a crippling drug habit and suspicious colleagues start to take their toll on his sanity…
Now we all ask – can Bruce keep his grip on reality long enough to disentangle himself from the filth? Hope we'll soon have an answer to that question (although still nothing about the official US release date).
The good thing is that Sierra/Affinity company is handling international sales for the film, so I guess we'll soon have more updates to share.
Anyway, let me just remind you that beside McAvoy,
Filth also stars
Jamie Bell,
Eddie Marsan,
Jim Broadbent,
Imogen Poots,
Joanne Froggatt,
Gary Lewis,
Martin Compston,
Kate Dickie and
Shirley Henderson.
