Don't miss the official red band trailer for
Jon S. Baird‘s upcoming
Filth movie, which stars
James McAvoy as a corrupt policeman who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. As you probably know, the whole thing is based on
Irvine Welsh‘s best-selling novel
Trainspotting which says: it's a filthy job getting to the top, but somebody's got to do it!
Written and directed by
Jon S. Baird, the movie revolves around McAvoy's character – an Edinburgh detective with an addiction to cocaine and a bipolar disorder named Bruce Robertson.
He manipulates and hallucinates his way through the festive season in a bid to secure promotion and win back his wife and daughter…

Enlisted to solve a brutal murder and threatened by the aspirations of his colleagues, including Ray Lennox, Bruce sets about ensuring their ruin, right under the nose of unwitting Chief Inspector Toal. As he turns his colleagues against one another by stealing their wives and exposing their secrets, Bruce starts to lose himself in a web of deceit that he can no longer control. His past is slowly catching up with him, and a missing wife, a crippling drug habit and suspicious colleagues start to take their toll on his sanity. The question is: can he keep his grip on reality long enough to disentangle himself from the filth?
The rest of the
Filth cast includes
Jamie Bell,
Jim Broadbent,
Eddie Marsan,
Joanne Froggatt and
Imogen Poots.
The movie is still without an official release date, but as usual – we'll keep an eye on it, so make sure you stay tuned for more updates!
