He is definitely not an A-list actor; neither it looks like this movie is going to be a blockbuster (sic), but Modern Family's in-house clown
Eric Stonestreet has joined the cast of Universal's comedy
Identity Thief and that's what I meant to say.
In fact, he made his way to big screen role in
Seth Gordon‘s follow-up to Horrible Bosses, which has a pretty spectacular supporting cast that includes
Jon Favreau, John Cho, Clark Duke, Amanda Peet, and the rapper
T.I. with the film's leads played by
Jason Bateman and
Melissa McCarthy.
The TV star Stonestreet will play Big Chuck, a boisterous real estate broker with an outsized personality who has a run-in with McCarthy and Bateman's characters.
Gordon works on a script written by The Pursuit of Happyness director Steve Conrad and The Hangover 2's Craig Mazin.
The crime caper Identity Thief is currently shooting and hits theaters on February 8th, 2013.
Modern Family's Emmy-winning star appeared in last year's comedy Bad Teacher, and has the ensemble indie The Loft in the can.
