Jon Favreau revealed the news with a Vine video that
Dustin Hoffman and
Bobby Cannavale have joined the cast of his next movie, ensemble comedy
Chef.
There are no details as to what characters Hoffman may play, but he joins a cast that already includes Favreau,
Sofía Vergara, John Leguizamo, Scarlett Johansson, and
Robert Downey Jr.
Johansson plays Molly, a restaurant manager and Favreau's character's love interest, Vergara is attached to join the project as Favreau's ex-wife, while Boardwalk Empire actor Cannavale is set to play a sous-chef. No word yet on Downey Jr.'s role.
The
Iron Man director will also helm the film based on his original screenplay, which follows a former chef (Favreau) who decides to start a food truck in Los Angeles.
Chef (not to be confused with
The Chef starring Bradley Cooper) production is already under way in L.A and is expected in theaters sometime next year.
