Need For Speed – looks that DreamWorks is quite serious about that project! As you probably know, we're talking about Scott Waugh‘s upcoming movie based on the Electronic Arts streetracing game of the same name which already has Aaron Paul and Dominic Cooper on board. Now, comes the word that Michael Keaton will join them as well and that he'll play the reclusive and eccentric host of an underground supercar race. Keaton can handle it, right?
So, at this moment we know thatScott Waugh is set to direct the movie from a script written by George Gatins, which will (according to HV) center on:
…a local street-racer (Paul) who partners with a rich and arrogant business associate (Cooper), only to find himself framed by his colleague and sent to prison. After his stint in the joint, he joins a New York-to-Los Angeles race to get revenge. But when the ex-partner learns of the scheme, he puts a massive bounty on the racer's head, forcing him to run a cross-country gauntlet of illegal racers in all manner of supercharged vehicles.
As we mentioned at the beginning, Michael Keaton comes on board to play the reclusive and eccentric host of an underground supercar race where he invites the best drivers from around the world.
Beside Paul, Cooper and (now) Keaton, the rest of the Need For Speed cast will also include Imogen Poots, Ramon Rodriguez, Rami Malek, Harrison Gilbertson and Scott ‘Kid Cudi‘ Mescudi.
The movie is already set to open on March 14th, 2014.
