Christopher Nolan‘s name does not appear on the press release for
Ben Affleck‘s casting as
Batman in the 2015
Man of Steel sequel. Nolan and his wife
Emma Thomas were previously serving as executive producers on the project.
Nolan, who was a producer and also credited as a co-author of the story for the first
Man of Steel, was conspicuously absent.
Warner Bros. announced on Thursday that,
The new Super Hero film is being scripted by David S. Goyer from a story he co-created with Zack Snyder. Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder are producing, with Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan and Wesley Coller serving as executive producers.
Meanwhile, Box Office Mojo reporter Ray Subers tweeted that the famed production company had told him that the Nolans were still producing
Man of Steel 2, however, agreed that it was very odd that the couple wasn't listed in the press release.
Read into it what you will, but Nolan went from co-author of the story and producer on the last
Superman film to an executive producer not even listed in the company's press release.
We will update this article when we get a response as to Nolan's involvement in the project. All we know for sure is that
Superman vs Batman hits theaters on July 17th, 2015 with
Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, and
Laurence Fishburne.

Nolan and Thomas are currently in production on
Interstellar, which is set for release on November 7th, 2014.
