The first official photo from
William Monahan's
London Boulevard is here!
You can already start to enjoy
Colin Farrell and
Keira Knightley, and we are here to start our little report about this movie, which is actually Monahan's directorial debut.
Yes, we do know that he is the Oscar-winning screenwriter of
The Departed, but this is his first movie, and one reason more for us to chat about his upcoming London-based crime drama.
So, they already describe this as crime-drama-romance film. No wonder when we have this kind of synopsis: “Mitchell is finally free after a stint in prison for assault. A crony offers him a job as a loan-shark enforcer, and though Mitchell isn't crazy about the idea, he doesn't have any better offers.
He's perfect for the job – mean and merciless. Buthe's also got another, softer side: he's an avid reader of crime novels, he's a loyal friend, and he'd even like to get married one day if he can find the right woman. He figures his luck might have changed when he lands a legitimate job as a handyman for a rich actress who's eager to reward him with cash, cars, and sex.
Then he meets Aisling – smart, beautiful, and, best of all, as crazy about Mitchell as he is about her. But Mitchell can never truly escape his violent past or the dangerous world of loan sharks, druggies, and other bottom feeders. When an arrogant error in judgment threatens everything that's dear to Mitchell, he plots his own ghastly form of revenge on those who've stolen his life.”
This interesting story that we'll soon have a chance to watch on a big screen is actually based on the book by
Ken Bruen, and as you already guess, ex-con is our dear Colin Farrell, while famous actress is lovely Keira Knightley.
But that's, of course, not all, and London Boulevard also features the acting talents of
David Thewlis, Anna Friel, Ben Chaplin, Eddie Marsan, Sanjeev Baskhar, newcomer
Jamie Campbell Bower, and
Ray Winstone.
Currently in the final stages of post production, the film is produced by the Academy Award-winning Graham King alongside William Monahan, Tim Headington and Quentin Curtis.
So, guys, get ready for London Boulevard, with every new information we'll be back, and until than, make sure you stay tuned!
