Cleanskin, a tense, topical British thriller with
Sean Bean as an undercover agent whose mission is to take out a terrorist cell.
Working deep undercover in London's underworld, secret service agent Ewan (Sean Bean) is used to dealing with the city's most ruthless criminals. When a suicide bomber blows himself up in a busy London restaurant, it seems the authorities' worst fears are being realised – the capital is under attack. Ewan is called in by his boss, Charlotte McQueen (
Charlotte Rampling), and given a new mission. He must locate and terminate the Islamist terrorist cell with extreme prejudice. Meanwhile, terrorist Ash (
Abhin Galeya) is troubled by his conscience and has begun to reflect on the journey that led him to extremism. Taking its name from the term used to describe a terrorist unknown to the security services, Hadi Hajaig's action-packed follow-up to his acclaimed ‘Puritan' makes excellent use of its London locations.
The film also stars Michelle Ryan (Eastenders, The Bionic Woman), and Tuppence Middleton (Connect).
Cleanskin, written and directed by
Hadi Hajaig, is set to hit UK and Ireland theaters on March 9th, 2012. US release date is still to be decided.
