Mistery (finally) solved –
Paul Thomas Anderson‘s next project is
Inherent Vice, an adaptation of
Thomas Pynchon‘s novel of the same name! But, as you already see from our title, now we have another dilemma – will
Charlize Theron actually join previously announced
Robert Downey Jr.? Or, is that just another rumor? Well, at least one thing is for sure –
it sounds great!
So, this update comes from
Showbiz 411, who confirm that
Paul Thomas Anderson's next film will be an adaptation of
Inherent Vice, and also add that:
…it does like Robert Downey, Jr. and perhaps Charlize Theron will be the stars, with more names coming.
So, the good thing is that Downey is apparently still attached to play a stoner detective named Doc Sportello in a story that goes like this:
It's been a while since Doc Sportello has seen his ex- girlfriend. Suddenly she shows up with a story about a plot to kidnap a billionaire land developer whom she just happens to be in love with. It's the tail end of the psychedelic sixties in L.A., and Doc knows that love is another of those words going around at the moment, like trip or groovy, except that this one usually leads to trouble.
If
Theron-part actually works out, she would play that ex-girlfriend, or what? The answer is probably –
yes.
Anyway, at the end of this report let us also add that
Megan Ellison is going to produce
Inherent Vice via her
Annapurna Productions, and as usual – for more details about the whole thing – make sure you stay tuned!
