Pacific Rim' s
Guillermo del Toro quickly moved on to his next project and is kicking up the development process for a gothic romance haunted house film
Crimson Peak.
We
reported that a ghost story recently attracted
Emma Stone's attentions and now we have the news that Pacific Rim lead,
Charlie Hunnam, is in talks to co-star alongside
the Amazing Spider-Man beauty.
Del Toro will direct the film and is currently rewriting the script with
Lucinda Coxon he originally co-wrote alongside
Matthew Robbins. Details are being kept under lock and key, but the project has been described as a classic ghost story that also makes use of modern conventions.
A February 2014 production start date is being targeted allowing for Del Toro to head to the small screen for the pilot of the FX series ‘The Strain,' based on his own book series with Chuck Hogan.
Hunnam, best known for his role on Sons of Anarchy (which concluded last week on FX) has nothing on the docket that we know of, while Stone will return as Gwen Stacy in Marc Webb's Spider-Man sequel.
Legendary will produce while
Universal has kept open their option to join at a later date.
Stay tuned.
