I think Tom Hanks is absolutely fantastic in this film – says director Paul Greengrass about his upcoming Captain Phillips movie, which is set to hit theaters this October. We completely agree, and that's exactly why we're back to add a brand new (international) trailer and more images from this (pretty intense) action thriller based on a true story. Head inside to check him out…
These were very dramatic events in a fight against the clock featuring a very ordinary person who never thought he'd be in the spotlight. That's what it's really about. It's meant to capture the mounting tension and excitement of how he's going to be freed. It's about how they're going to deal with these four desperadoes.

Based upon the book A Captain's Duty: Somali Pirates, Navy SEALs, and Dangerous Days at Sea, written by Richard Phillips and Stephan Talty, the movie tells:
…the true story of Captain Richard Phillips and the 2009 hijacking by Somali pirates of the US-flagged MV Maersk Alabama, the first American cargo ship to be hijacked in two hundred years.
Greengrass directed the whole thing from a script written by Billy Ray, and beside Hanks who plays Captain Richard Phillips, the rest of the cast includes Catherine Keener, Max Martini, Yul Vazquez, Michael Chernus, Chris Mulkey, Corey Johnson, David Warshofsky and John Magaro.
Captain Phillips will have its premiere showing at this year's New York Film Festival (September 27th – October 13th) and will then hit theaters on October 11th, 2013.
