Following the 10-second montage preview and an extended sneak peek featuring Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) and The Falcon (Anthony Mackie) in action, Thursday finally brings the first full trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
The third film of Marvel’s Phase 2, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, finds Captain America as a full-fledged member of S.H.I.E.L.D. who ends up teaming up with Black Widow to bring down a villain he eventually discovers to be his long lost friend, Bucky Barnes aka the deadly assassin The Winter Soldier.
Cap’s new adventure comes to theaters April 4th, 2014 and also stars Frank Grillo, Cobie Smulders, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp, Hayley Atwell, Maximiliano Hernández, Robert Redford and Georges St-Pierre.
Check out the sequel’s first trailer, which offers more in terms of dialogue, hints at the movie’s plot and shots of the main players as well.
After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.
