Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones),
Teresa Palmer (I Am Number Four),
Imogen Poots (Fright Night) and
Alison Brie (The Five-Year Engagement).
The previously rumored Anna Kendrick and
Felicity Jones are now also definitely out of the running.
Along with Evans who is reprising his role as the super soldier turned leader,
Sebastian Stan is set to reprise his role as Bucky Barnes, who becomes the titular Winter Soldier and
Scarlett Johansson returning to play the
Black Widow, who shares significant history with Bucky in the Avengers comics.
Anthony Mackie signed on to play Falcon and
Anthony and
Joseph Russo will direct
Captain America: The Winter Soldier next March.
In addition, the Greater Cleveland Film Commission confirmed that Marvel Studios will return to Cleveland, Ohio where The Avengers was filmed to capture segments of the upcoming Captain America sequel.
Captain America 2 is set to hit theaters on April 4th, 2014.
