Cameron Diaz will star alongside
Colin Firth in an upcoming
Michael Hoffman‘s remake of the 1966 film, titled
Gambit.
Sounds like another big hit is coming, especially if you're a remake-fan!
And we know that both of actors are quite busy these days – Cameron is currently starring in
The Green Hornet and recently finished filming
Bad Teacher, while Colin is promoting his new film
The King's Speech. But, who cares!
The
Joel and Ethan Coen scripted remake of the 1966 British caper comedy that starred
Michael Caine and
Shirley MacLaine will follow: “Harry Deane (Firth) is a London art curator planning an elaborate scheme to con a wealthy collector into buying a fake Monet painting.
In order to dupe the buyer, Deane invents a story and recruits a Texas steer roper, PJ Puznowski (Diaz), to play the part of a woman whose grandfather liberated the painting at the end of WWII.”
Mike Lobell (Honeymoon in Vegas) is producing alongside Crime Scene Pictures partners Adam Ripp and Rob Paris, who are also financing.
The movie will begin shooting in May in London.
