Bradley Cooper is one funny guy. When I think about The Hangover, I immediately think about that little monkey. Ok, Cooper as well, but I like that monkey very much. No, it has nothing to do with this report, but you can't blame writer for writing, right?
So, don't blame Bradley Cooper for writing the script for Hyperion! You still have no idea what I'm talking about? Well, check the rest of this report then.
Apparently, all of the sudden, Cooper is interested in writing an adaptation of the long-in-development novel Hyperion by Dan Simmons.
It's the same project that we already wrote about, back in… let me see… January 2009, but as you see, Hollywood is still interested in this project.
As usual, we have the story set in the distant future, as a space war threatens Hyperion, a planet known for the Time Tombs – large artifacts that can move through time and are guarded by a gruesome monster called the Shrike.
So, Cooper appeared on Charlie Rose earlier this week, when, during the interview he revealed that he's written an adaptation of Dan Simmons' sci-fi epic Hyperion on spec with a friend. Cooper said that they have “…submitted the script to GK Films and are currently in negotiations to script the film adaptation.”
And for all of you who think that maybe there will be a chance for him to even direct the whole thing here's what he answers: “Ideally I'd like to direct it, but there's no way.”
Should we wait for something official? I guess we should, so make sure you stay tuned!
