So, things are pretty clear: the upcoming horror-western (although some still call it
an action thriller) titled
Bone Tomahawk will definitely have an awesome cast on board.
Kurt Russell,
Peter Sarsgaard,
Richard Jenkins and
Jennifer Carpenter are already attached to star in the whole thing, and now comes the word that
Timothy Olyphant (Justified) will join them as well!
Bone Tomahawk comes from director
S. Craig Zahler and at this moment we know that it will follow a sheriff, a gunslinger, a befuddled oldster and a cowboy as they attempt to rescue a group of captives from a band of cannibalistic troglodytes.
Now imagine Russell as sheriff, Jenkins as a befuddled oldster and Sarsgaard as a cowboy – and you already have a
brutally violent, character-driven movie.
As for Olyphant, he comes on board to play character named John Brooder, described as an eloquent sharpshooter who moved to the frontier in order to satisfy the dark impulses that lie beneath his polished exterior.
Anyway, at the end of this report I will also add that production on
Bone Tomahawk should start this spring in New Mexico, and as usual – you should stay tuned for more updates!
