Alejandro Gonzalez Inaritu‘s upcoming
Birdman is getting bigger! And when I say
bigger, I mean that some seriously good cast is on board for the whole thing. Check this out: we've just learned that
Emma Stone,
Zach Galifianakis,
Naomi Watts and
Michael Keaton are all set to star in this dark-action-comedy (or something like that.)
Let me first remind you that Inaritu will direct
Birdman from a script he co-wrote with
Armando Bo,
Alexander Dinelaris and
Nicolas Giacobone and the film will center on:
…an actor famous for having once played a popular superhero over a three-day period during which he makes an attempt to mount a Broadway play.
Now, a few words about that cool cast. According to
THR, Keaton is set to play that comic book movie star trying to regain his credibility, while Stone comes on board to play his daughter – fresh from rehab and now his assistant.
As for Watts, she's set to star as actress in the play, with Galifianakis set to play the production's conniving producer.
They also add that other main parts to be cast include the play's leading man and the ex-wife, and that an early April production start is being eyed.
In other words – we'll soon have more
Birdman updates, so make sure you stay tuned!
