Well, it seems that big-screen adaptation of
Adam Rapp's dark play
Red Light Winter has found new life, hiring Contraband thesp
Ben Foster instead of a vet
Mark Ruffalo.
Foster is joining the previously cast
Kirsten Dunst and a stage vet
Katherine Waterston.
Actor-playwright Rapp will adapt his own play of the same name following ‘two male friends who travel from New York to Amsterdam and become caught up in a love triangle with a prostitute, bringing to the surface dark undercurrents in their troubled friendship.'
Foster will play an anxious emerging writer; Bachelorette star Dunst will play the sex worker, while Waterston (The Babysitters) is set to co-star as another woman who shares a romantic past with both men.
If Rapp finds the right actor to replace Billy Crudupt, who also dropped out due to a change in schedule, the plan is to shoot Red Light Winter in December or January.
Contraband's Foster will next be seen in John Krokidas' indie Kill Your Darlings and will soon reteam with Wahlberg on Peter Berg's Lone Survivor, which begins filming next month as well as Texas outlaw drama Ain't Them Bodies Saints with Rooney Mara and Casey Affleck.
