Principal photography has begun on
Ben Affleck‘s upcoming dramatic thriller
Argo. Will somebody please open that champagne now? No? Well, I don't care, I hate that shit anyway.
And when it comes to Affleck's Argo – I do care, not because I'm crazy about the story or something like that, but because as usual with Affleck we have some great cast on board. It includes
Alan Arkin, Bryan Cranston, John Goodman, Kyle Chandler, Rory Cochrane, Victor Garber, Richard Kind and
Michael Parks. And that's enough for me!
So, as you see in our title, we finally have first official synopsis on the whole thing. Yeah, I know, we previously had a little chat about this project, so you know what it's all about, but we want to do things right. Why?
Well, because when we say rumor – you say we're
lazy liars, and when we have
official things you say we love to repeat boring information. Really guys, what the hell is wrong with you? God damn it, just check out the official synopsis!
Based on true events, Argo chronicles the life-or-death covert operation to rescue six Americans, which unfolded behind the scenes of the Iran hostage crisis – the truth of which was unknown by the public for decades. On November 4, 1979, as the Iranian revolution reaches its boiling point, militants storm the U.S. embassy in Tehran, taking 52 Americans hostage.
But, in the midst of the chaos, six Americans manage to slip away and find refuge in the home of the Canadian ambassador. Knowing it is only a matter of time before the six are found out and likely killed, a CIA “exfiltration” specialist named Tony Mendez (Affleck) comes up with a risky plan to get them safely out of the country. A plan so incredible, it could only happen in the movies.
And now good night & good luck!
Shit! I knew this sounded familiar. I actually wanted to add that Affleck co-wrote the script with
Grant Heslov a man behind Clooney's 2005
Good Night and Good Luck project.
Ok, bye now!
